Made Some Things For BRB TV

Last week a few of my buddies over at BigRedBarrel.com we’re having a chat about video content on their YouTube channel (BRB TV), precisely the lack of content and the need of an update. This originally started with an idea of doing a four player live stream of the latest TMNT video game and spun off into an idea to do a bunch of multiplayer let’s plays and to bring back to life an older series called Big Red Ramble.

Anyway, that was a long-winded route to get to my hatred of a specific piece of BRB TV; its intro – which I found out that I’m not the only one in this camp. Just watch any video from the channel and you’ll see a long, annoying intro dug straight out of 2010. So after a little chat, I got to work on making a short and stylish intro… which you can see below.

After sending this video to Kev – the man who’s in charge of and seemingly provides around 95% of the content of BRB TV, who’s given the all clear and we’re now going with my into. But now the floodgates have been opened; I need to make more things for the channel (it’s a sickness I’m sure). I got the idea to build to make a background for presenting content (news, reviews, etc.), which you can also see here.

The idea with this one is to use a chroma screen while presenting and then to add the image during post-production, with the display being used to add images/clips as required.

So that’s it for now, but I’m sure I’ll think of something new to make at some point… maybe a thumbnail overlay?

Update I did indeed start off by making a new thumbnail overlay but things then got out of hand and I ended up re-organising the entire channel. You can see the results for yourself here.
